1. Vince never saw Christian as a legit WWE Champion material, period. Even though Christian was 10 times better on the mic and smoother in the ring, Edge was always Vince's golden boy and absolute favorite. Whenever Edge got the big main event push, Christian was treated like an afterthought who was lucky to even be on the card.The most insulting part was his final run in WWE. After 7 years away, they brought him back for that 2021 Royal Rumble. It was an emotional moment sharing the ring with Edge again, but right after that, WWE basically threw him to the side. They wouldn't even offer him a proper full time contract to wrestle. They just expected him to sit on the bench or retire for good. It was pure humiliation to treat a legend like a disposable prop. Thank god he knew his worth, walked out, and signed with AEW to show everyone what a real main eventer looks like.

2. I worked backstage crew in WWF back then and Vince’s treatment of Christian was brutal. Vince hated his look so much he wanted to put a blue dot over his face on TV. He’d literally scream at commentators in their headsets to ignore him and would humiliate Christian by shouting at him in front of everyone in the locker room. The worst part was how Edge totally neglected him once he got his singles push. Edge got the star treatment and private rooms while Christian was left in the trenches. Edge wouldn't risk his own spot to stick up for his best friend, leaving Christian completely isolated. It's amazing Christian survived that toxic environment.

4. The most frustrating thing to watch was how they handled their friendship on TV. In real life, Edge and Christian were literally like brothers they grew up together, traveled together, and slept on regular hotel floors just to make it. But when the company split them up on Raw, the creative team completely butchered it.Instead of letting them show real, raw emotion, the writers forced them into this heavily scripted, corporate garbage. You could tell they were just reading lines written by writers who didn't understand their history. They went from having the most natural, organic chemistry in the entire business to cutting fake, robotic promos that felt totally forced. WWE took a genuine brotherhood and turned it into a cheap, manufactured soap opera just to get to a rushed match. It was painful to watch backstage because everyone knew they deserved a much deeper, more realistic storyline.
